Eagle is an animal portrait that was created by my hands and fingers. It was my first piece created after taking a break from painting for a while.
The inspiration from this piece was drawn from my Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibtion: "Honour" * "Dishonour", where the exhibition focused on how to honor my nation's Veterans and Current Service Members.
"I wanted to create a heavily symbolized piece, that represented my nation and its heroes."
It started with an eagle, and developed into a flag; a folded one in the top right corner with one star, a draped one beneath my nation's bird.
This piece was made by painting with hands and fingers.
This piece was entered into the Nebraska State Fair, and received 3rd place ranking in the Oil, Acrylic, Permanent Media Division; Professional Animals, Birds, Other Wildlife Class.
From there, Eagle was presented at the Seward County Historical Society Museum in Goehner, NE during a presentation that I gave.
Eagle sold, and was used for the raffle scholarship fundraiser for The Seward Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Gerald Coffey Post 4755.
It has since been signed in person.
