Tiffany Hovendick is a midwestern, non-traditional, Advocate Studio Artist. Her work about representation of self and others began in 2020, as a response to the turmoil of herself and nation. Using only her hands and acrylic, Tiffany painted three portraits on one canvas in the foreground of her homeland. From then on, Hovendick used her hands to paint figures on large-scales, focusing on themes of culture, self-identity, and the treatment of others. Eventually, her paintings led to her acceptance into the Bachelor of Fine Arts Studio Art Program at Concordia University, Nebraska (CUNE, 2021); her receiving the Marxhausen Endowment (CUNE, 2021); and her Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition: "Honour" * "Dishonour" (CUNE, 2022). Hovendick graduated from Concordia in December 2022 with two degrees: her BFA in Studio Art, and BA in English. She currently is a local artist, and volunteers at the Seward County Historical Society Museum in Goehner, Nebraska.
